A filk for [livejournal.com profile] galtine1 and <lj site="livejournal.com" user="jbriggs"

I will be performing at the Meet the Guests Cabaret at Westercon (Conzilla in San Diego in July.

As I will be performing in the guise of the mascot, Conrad T Lizard (a real live Lounge Lizard), I've written a special set of lyrics to one of my favorite lounge tunes.

Will this serve?

The Thing That Time Forgot
you should be able to figure out the tune
Lyrics ©2006 by K.P.Roche

Huge and Green and Scaled and Frightening
The Thing That Time Forgot comes gliding
and as it passes
each town it passes falls still...

Having loosed the bonds of Ages
None can stop its fierce rampages
and as it passes
each town it passes falls still..

And, with its breath so incend'ry
Watch as it thwarts every foe
Careless of peasant and gentry
No matter how quickly they flee
It toasts them and eats them, you see...

Huge and green and scaled and frightening
The Thing that Time Forgot comes gliding
and as it passes
I hide, and hope it won't see...

< instrumental >

And, with its breath so incend'ry
Watch as it thwarts every foe
Careless of peasant and gentry
No matter how quickly they flee
It toasts them and eats them, you see...

Huge and green and scaled and frightening
The Thing that Time Forgot comes gliding
and as it passes
I hide, and hope it won't see...
Oh, I hope it won't see...
I'm hiding you see...
oh please don't eat me...

You are going to burn in Hell for doing that to "The Girl From Ipanema". Also, for doing this to my brain. AAAAAAGH!

I mean that as a compliment.

Then my work is done.

That's exactly the reaction I was hoping you'd have :-)

Bwahahahaha!

I'm particularly proud that I managed to fit "incendiary" into the scansion. :-D
