The next big project: BarBot 2012
I've been working on a design and buying parts to exhibit a robot in BarBot 2012 in March. We've dubbed our 'bot "Thinbot" in honor of the Thin Man films; it only makes up drinks* :-)
There are 8 available ingredients (gin, vodka, Cocchi Americano, citron vodka, Cointreau, cranberry juice, lime juice, simple syrup) dispensed via peristaltic pumps controlled by an Arduino Mega with a touch-screen display. The software is all ready to go.
There are 4 bottles in the bottom tank, 4 in the upper tank; not shown are the hoses and pumps (which will mount in the flat panels at the top). The hoses will attach to stainless lines that drop through the giant cocktail shaker to emerge above the glass.
The shaker and tanks will be filled as a circulation chiller: a reservoir of ice water on the floor, a fountain pump that fills the cocktail shaker, which drains into the upper tank, which drains into the lower tank, which drains back to the reservoir.
Photos to follow as the rest of the parts arrive and I start assembly.

What gin are you stocking it with?
Right off the bat, I see the possibilities of Martinis, vodka Martinis, Cosmopolitans, Gimlets, Vodka Gimlets, Vespers, and Kamikazes. Oh, plus Cape Cods, of course. That's not too bad a spread. And I bet I'm missing one or two.
