Project SG-69 : The Saga Continues: MORE POWER!!!!

One of the less-than-perfect aspects of the gate when we put it up was that each encoding chevron had it's own "wall wart" power supply, with a 6' cord. That meant at least 3 of them were hanging off the gate without support, one more source of load on the frame.

I've now finished the SG-69 ECPS.12X2, which can provide 12VACx500mA for every one of the 7 chevrons. Hurrah!

Lables? WDNNSL? Lables? WDNNSL?

Actually yes, we do. Proof that I'm truly compulsive, the label specifying the input and output characteristics

Compulsive? You?

*LOL*

I really want to see the stargate in real life. I guess that means we'll have to make another trip to the SF area again.

Well, we have an invitation to put it up at Conzilla (Westercon) and LA Con (Worldcon) in 2006. We *may* take it to Galley, but we don't know enough yet about their new hotel to say for sure

Wow, well, it looked cool anyway. Now for pics we gotta figure out how to show the wormhole effect, and flash. :) I'm picking my brain for what could be done, maybe backlighting???

For this installation we *will* be doing rear projection. The SG is going up as the exit from the maze section of the haunted house I'm helping build at work tomorrow.

In the past we've had an entry foyer, a small maze, a big cemetery room and a dungeon-style mad scientist's lair.

This time we're having the foyer, a small cemetary, a big maze with the stargate as the only exit... into an ALIEN mad scientist's lair. :-)

Cool, I'll be up at the Haunt in Sonoma. Our friends Bruce and Michelle from Santa Rosa invited us to go up about three or four years ago, and we've gone up every year since. A group of us go at least two weekends a year.
