Looking for referrals...

In keeping with the general lunacy of the Great FurCon Coiffure Conspiracy (aka Stupid Hair Tricks) I thought I'd get matching theatrical contact lenses. Except that now you can't order them online without a valid prescription, even if you don't need correction (the law just changed last month).

Well, I'm overdue (years overdue) for an eye exam anyway, and my vision plan will cover all of the exam part of the cost, and a chunk of the fitting and lenses cost even if they are not medically necessary. (yay! I guess its cheaper for them to pay some up front than pay for treatment for eye problems later caused by poor fit, etc)

So -- anyone have a suggestion? I'm on the IBM VSP Wellvision plan. [livejournal.com profile] markobellydance, if your employer is a network provider and the referral would be good for you, I'd certainly consider them. Go ahead and post in the comments!

Kevin

Yeah, but they don't have the Wild Eyes (CibaVision, who has the zebra stripes). And I'll bet their FAQ just hasn't been updated to reflect the changes in US law, since it just went into effect.

Darnit...and I have to get cat eyes for Amelia by January. Mrph! Unless something crops up between now and then, I won't be able to get cat-eyes for Amelia for the masquerade. :-/

If you have an already valid contact prescription, that's all that is necessary to order online legally.

I just haven't had an eye exam in years (one of the only kids in my family with normal vision). So I'm definitely overdue for that anyway.

Silicon Valley Eyecare does VSP, and Dr. Alexander is pretty decent.

Bit of a trip, I know, but I got *fabulous* sevice from the UCBerkeley Optometry Center (Meredith Morgan Eye Center is the formal name, I think). And they take VSP.

I heard back from markobellydance

I've always wanted to get yellow ones, and do a Data routine I've always wanted to do. :D

I also have a current contact lens prescription. Hmmm...
