Doom and Destruction

After too many years of hating our backyard, the work begins today...

Everything but the two big concrete slabs and the ornamental pear are coming out. Hurrah!

So where are the "before" pictures?

I'm not taking any. The backyard is an embarassment because we let it go and we piled crap back there. Plus the recent roadway work on the other side of the soundwall triggered some old Tree of Heaven roots out of dormancy and we've got bloody tall suckers popping out of every corner of the yard.

Some of the Stargate construction photos were shot in the backyard. You might get glimpses of the jungle in them ;-)

Hurrah! No doubt I'll be doing some similar work outside soon enough, although thankfully we have not much upkeep (good for a pasty pale indoor geek like me, and Q's not keen on yardwork either).

historical video proof...

Who's doing the work?

It's being coordinated by Jeff Tucker of Sacred Places Garden Design (http://www.sacredplacesgardendesign.com)

Jeff's a long-time friend, and the gardens he designs are really wonderful
