2006 Hugo Award Nominations are now open
Dec. 28th, 2005 04:32 pmToday I received my Progress Report Three for LA Con IV, the 64th World Science Fiction Convention.
It includes the nomination ballot for the 2006 Hugo Awards (for those of you who don't know, the Hugos are unique in that they are nominated and voted upon exclusively by the members of the World Science Fiction Convention -- in other words, by people who create and/or read/watch/listen to the literature and media in question).
In order to nominate for the 2006 Hugos, you must have been a supporting or attending member of Interaction, the 63rd Worldcon, or be a supporting or attending member of LACon IV by January 31, 2006.
Nominations close at midnight on Friday, March 10, 2006. There should be an online nomination form very soon. This year's special Hugo category is Best Interactive Video Game.
If you want to nominate your favorite book, story, video game, or Dramatic Presentation, be sure you have your membership in order in time! (Remember, supporting member status is sufficient to qualify you for nominating work.)
