OK, I've now ordered:
5.5 feet of 12" tall 1/2 inch cane chair mesh (for the neck)
3 20" woven-wood salad bowls (for the shell of the dome; 3 so I have room to blow it)
3 polished coconut cups for the ocular housing
and (gasp) one box of 250 polished coconut 1/2 shells.
I also have a copy of the Dalek Builders Workshop Manual en route from the UK; I have the plans from Project Dalek, but this has lots of useful tips on actually *building* something.
