Two members of the Costume-Con 26 convention committee (concom) have graciously offered to open their house for a Costume-Con 26 Meet-and-Greet in the south SF Bay Area.

If you are a Costume-Con 26 staff member, or you are interested in working as part of the crew, please come to our meet-and-greet! This is a perfect opportunity to meet our chair, Kevin Roche, as well as other concom members, at a potluck dinner and social.

For those that care to imbibe, from 6 to 10 Kevin will be pouring a selection from his wine cellar, and Bill and Carole will also provide soft drinks for everyone.

This is an informal gathering, so while some CC26 discussion may happen, it is *not* an official business meeting.

Please forward this invitation to appropriate lists, groups, and individuals.
If you are interested in attending, please respond to gatherings@cc26.info and we will send you detailed location direction!

Hosts: Carole Parker and Bill Laubenheimer
When: Saturday, February 10, 2007
Starts: 6:00 p.m.
Bring: Yourselves, friends and family who might want to be part of CC26, and something to eat to share.
Note: This is a non-smoking household and several of the expected staff (including Kevin) are severely allergic to tobacco smoke, so our hosts respectfully request that you refrain from smoking.
Allergy Alert: Cats hiding in the master bedroom. We have cat-free zones and an outdoor deck. We make every effort to de-cat* our home before an event.

*To de-cat: Cleaning done to minimize exposure to cat allergens. Anything that can raise dust is completed 24-hours before the event. We do this to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable.

okay, nothing to do with CC26, and I know you're not the host, but - I've found Febreeze anti-allergen spray very effective as a final touch. It has an odor while wet, but if sprayed on carpets after vaccuming and an hour or two before guests, it settles dust pretty well. However, I've not used it in cat situations, only "regular" household allergens.

I've been told that Carole and Bill are in fact quite proficient at the "de-catting" process. I wouldn't be surprised if they've tried that.

I understand they are too. I just couldn't help myself. I feel chatty today.

*sigh* I wouldn't mind coming, as I really would like to help at the con, but the commute for this would be a *tad* rough. *Grin*

and by the way, thank you again for signing my book at LaCon IV!

Well, watch for us at a convention near you. I think we're going to have a table (or at least some folk in the dealer's room carrying info) at NorWescon.

now I remember...
