Went shopping in Saturday and Sunday, got some new work pants and shirts.

So of course, this morning I stumbled, dropped my bagel, and spilled my espresso.

On my brand new pale pale khakis.

Argh.

At least the cafeteria let me replace my bagel free of charge.

Has to get better from this point on, right?

ugh, I feel ya.

do you know about the Oxy Clean? I've never tried it with coffee stains, but it's been amazing on other badly stained stuff... including things that had been washed before, and/or had been stained for some time before trying it. I get it from costco, but I think bed bath and beyond also carries it... worth a try anyway. good luck!

We use it routinely, and it works quite well.

This is particularly frustrating because I *just* pulled the new pants out of the dryer (always launder before first wearing, since I'm allergic to sizing) this morning.

Guess I'll be laundering the other two pair this evening so I can spill espresso on one of them Tuesday morning.

At BayCon he suggested using vodka, if memory serves.

Now you know part of why I never wear light colored pants or shirts. I *always* spill something like coffee, soda, ketchup, or something else dark and staining.

Sucks.

If I wear dark-colored, I end up working somewhere on or under the floor of my lab with concrete and gypsum dust. It's a given. This is why I buy my work pants on sale at Mervyn's.

Plus, with the current heat wave I feel cooler in light-colored pants.

I actually wondered how far I was going to get today before I got something on them.

It's a law of nature. Wear something brand spankin' new and light in color, and you become a vortex for higher gravitational forces. It particularly works that way with grape juice.

Well, duh.

Work in a research lab.

have to crawl into the machinery not infrequently.

Can get them cheap at M's.

Don't like wearing blue jeans to wall.

So, yes -khakis

Or am I missing an all important Beavis & Butthead reference here?

No, no. I'm just teasing. It's funny when you know someone in a certain setting; like FurCon... and then you interact with them outside of those boundaries. I don't think I would have ever pictured you in anything other than a utilikilt. ;)
