I realized this morning that the tightness at the waist in the trousers is probably due to taking too large a fold in the rear inset to set eyelets. That's easily fixed by slashing the inset and patching it.

Today I drafted the pattern for the "square-rig" jersey (aka the middy top).

The first muslin proved the principle but was a tent; the second one fit with minor adjustments and has now become the body of the garment. All the seams are felled, the facings are in as well as the twill tape ribbons for securing my tie properly. (visit http://mpmuseum.org/rcn_uniform_ratings1.html to see a vintage example of what I'm talking about.)

Now I just have to make and attach the sleeves and collar and hem it.

Hurrah! There may even be time to make the separate collar with the stripes on it in time for Gallifrey.
