That's right -- I promised pictures. This one isn't great, but I have it

No, it's not a great picture. There is some spherical aberration plus the flash problems. I also may have a pair of wireless body pacs (mic and monitor) under the coat. It is, however, proof that I bought one :-)

If the settings on the album let you view it, you can also see me in the background in this picture: http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/248996_1974468194960_1040704767_2323288_3706438_n.jpg

You can see the suit hangs properly in that one.

Doesn't look too bad in this pic, and the one with you in the background looks great!

I'm a bit surprised you didn't try to just make yourself one. I've seen what you can do, and it doesn't seem out of your league.

I've built somewhere between 3 and 5 properly fitted jackets, and, yes, I can do it. (The first was the "flashy dancer" built for Costume-Con 9 FFShow, the most recent full-on project being the Vanamonde Heliotrope coat http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/gallery/cosplay.php?date=20080416)

It's all a question of time; these days spending $800 on a well-fitted suit out of high-quality wool-silk was easily worth the time and expense making it would have been.

Nice. (I had to buy a tux last winter, figured that it was better than renting since I'll need it 3-4 time a year for the next few at least.)

You look so mundane! Do they have any idea of your other outfits?

Yes, I can see it clearly, the Jungle Boy outfit in an official IBM event. That will end up well... :-)

What kind of geeks would use "spherical aberration" on an LJ post? I mean, that is, other than me :-)

Geeks who do laser ablation and have a hard-core amateur photographer as a husband.

Did he drool over my soon-to-arrive Shen Hao 617 with movements? He can touch it at the party if he wants :-)

Hmmm.. if the light is good, we can do a group photo in front of the house!

A bit of glare in the shot, but the suit looks like a good disguise. You look both handsome and unexpectedly normal.
