If you are a resident of Santa Clara County, you are eligible to vote in the Imperial Royal Lion Monarchy of San Jose, Inc. annual election to select the monarch(s) for Reign 41 (the 2011-2012 fundraising year).

This year, for the first time in several years, there are two candidates vying for the title of Empress: Lupe, and the Notorious Miss Julie.

Voting is open today at the Billy Defrank Center from 5-7pm

Today I was going to help wash cars at the IRLM Scrub-a-Dub Car Wash and BBQ being held in the Billy DeFrank Center parking lot.

Unfortunately, it turns out what I thought was the after effects of two nights of partying was in fact the start of a head cold.

So I won't be sliding into my metallic-blue hot pants to help wash cars.

However -- if your car could use a bath, or you could use a hot dog, consider swinging by the DeFrank and helping IRLM raise a bit of money for charity!

Yup, I'm doing it again.

Susan and Greg Russi of Vin Santo Ristorante in Willow Glen are helping me do another "Wine and Cheese for Charity" event at their restaurant.

The idea is simple: Susan chooses 4 wines from their astonishingly well-stocked cellar. Greg prepares appetizers. Guests can choose to get 2 glasses of wine for $30 or 4 for $50.
We drink fabulous wine, chat, and gossip with fabulous people, and enjoy fabulous appetizers from Greg's kitchen until we're done.

See, isn't that simple? And it raises a little money for charity, too!

We'll be starting at 7PM on Wednesday, January 18. For those of you following the Stupid Hair Tricks conspiracy, you'll get a preview of my zebra-striped hair if Belinda can do it all on Tuesday night.

There is one catch: we can only accomodate 30 people. 5 spaces have already been reserved...
