I HATE UPS

We're used to the song and dance with our wine deliveries. They require an adult signature, but they won't schedule a morning delivery because that's reserved for overnight packages. Thus, we endure multiple tags on our door and after the 3rd one go to pick up the wine at the customer service center.

My uniform delivery, it turns out, also requires a signature. No biggie, it coincides with a wine delivery timing out, so I'll just call to say hold it, and we'll go pick it up at the service center with the wine.

Only to discover The Service Center No Longer Has Saturday Hours. M-F, 9-6, that's it.

One of us will have to take TIME OFF on a work day to go pick up the packages.

Did I mention that I HATE UPS?

Us too!

I share your feeling.

And then there are the times they leave items worth close to $1k which were signature required at the doorstep when no one was home. This just happened in the last week with about $800 worth of software and happened last year when they delivered my GPS. Both were clearly labeled signature required. Fortunately nothing bigger than a Lands' End box has ever been stolen. And the driver came back to argue with us about that!

I recently found out that (at least our) UPS has undocumented evening pickup hours at the truck depot if you call that day if you get home and find the tag before 5 or 6 PM. Maybe this will help you.

Unfortunately, we usually get home between 6 and 7.

Although my office in SF would rather I not take deliveries on the job, it's more convenient to accept deliver at the office. An yes I could also talk the low down dog about UPS also.

What I like is Dad is retired and home. Moose is taking classes at home. And I work from Home.
So I go to the front to check for the street mail and find a UPS sticker on the door. They DIDN'T Even TRY to knock or ring the bell, they just assumed no one was home and left the sticker. GRUMP!
I always call them back and advise them this is a HOME office, Knock loudly and give us a moment. I also leave that info on the door sticker. They usually do so.
Then they are good until they shift drivers again and we go through this all again.
PS-Yes, I have occassionally heard the knock and rush to the door only to find the truck already going down the street. So that doesn't help. *sigh*

Our office mailing address (in reality, a private mailbox) is at local establishment with a regular street address, so they can accept UPS deliveries. It's a BIG help to us.
